NEC to attend ‘The Identity Conference’ in Wellington

The NEC team have confirmed that they will be attending the Identity Conference on the 26 – 27 August at Te Papa in Wellington.

The Identity Conference 2019 is called ‘Identity as taonga: now and in the future’ and is an event for people in New Zealand across all sectors of business, government, academia and the media. It recognises the importance of the changing way in which we express, manage and share our identity.

Digital identity is an integral part of this. The event will explore the way we use digital identity to engage with government and business and how we need to safeguard it from misrepresentation, misunderstanding or theft. The big idea is to look at the identity-related problems of today and the solutions of tomorrow.

The Identity Conference is hosted by Victoria University of Wellington, the Department of Internal Affairs – Te Tari Taiwhenua, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner, and Digital Identity New Zealand.

Keynote speakers include the clinical psychologist, author and commentator Nigel Latta, New York Times technology journalist Kashmir Hill, Privacy Commissioner John Edwards, Chief Archivist Richard Foy, demographer Prof Tahu Kukutai, and ID Care managing director Prof David Lacey.

You can register for The Identity Conference for a special registration fee of $995.

More information about the event can be found at Victoria University of Wellington
