In 2005 NEC won the contract to replace all of New Zealand Posts postal sorting equipment giving New Zealand one of the most advanced postal sorting services in the world.
NEC developed our first mail sorting machine 45 years ago. Since then we have contributed to mail automation in 40 countries worldwide. Today we are behind a number of technical breakthroughs such as the world's first letter sorting machine with OCR and a video coding system. The machine is able to read all sorts of handwritten text, including Japanese and Chinese. Our system integrates the latest developments in electronics and mechanics, which makes NEC one of the world's foremost suppliers of automated mail handling machinery for all specific needs.
