NEC's Broadband Services Innovation Centre is a NGN IP services delivery platform. A newly created high-speed broadband centre developed to test, demonstrate and evaluate broadband technologies, applications and services. NEC's Broadband Services Innovation Centre is fully functional NGN all IP service; where IP broadband services and applications can be launched, hosted and developed - providing an integrated NGN service platform for NEC's Service Provider customers to participate in. The Broadband Services Innovation Centre demonstrates NEC's commitment to our technology partners to showcase their products and provide a "real life" NGN environment for undertaking broadband service demonstrations.
Located initially in NEC's Wellington office, NEC plans to extend the Broadband Services Innovation Centre to incorporate their Auckland office.
The Broadband Services Innovation Centre is where New Zealand's service providers can test, develop and host new NGN services. The Broadband Services Innovation Centre provides a NGN platform where NEC will host and promote a wide range of applications and services that allows Service Providers (ISP, Mobile operators, IT technologists) to source and deliver value added services to their customers. The Broadband Services Innovation Centre provides a centre for the promotion of NEC broadband MSAN (Multi Service Access Node) equipment allowing the build of new broadband services e.g. ADSL2+, VDSL2 and GPON. The BSIC hosting NEC's "Director" a Network Management Service for NEC's MSAN equipment. Customers having the option to either purchase Director or purchase services from a hosted service. NEC will form the Broadband Services Innovation Centre over 2009 and launch a range of exciting and innovative broadband customer applications and services from the Broadband Services Innovation Centre Hosted Management platform.
