Overview

Identification Solutions have served law enforcement agencies since its inception. And now, with the ever-increasing demand for positive identification in the business and government marketplace, Identification Solutions Division (ISD) brings its proven finger imaging technology to civil services, healthcare, airport security and even your computer desktop. The New Zealand Police have used NEC AFIS technology since 1991 and is now used nation-wide providing a key tool for crime solving which scans, stores and matching fingerprints quickly and accurately. In automated latent fingerprint searching (partial and crime scene prints) NEC was recently ranked No.1 by independent testing at 97.2% accurate, the 2nd place vendor was 87.8% accurate.

Large scale Automated Fingerprint Identification System. The most advanced and accurate AFIS system available. AFIS21T is helping to solve more crimes with law enforcement agencies worldwide.

Deployments

About 40 NEC AFIS systems are currently in service with the police agencies in Japan. Over 100 NEC AFIS systems have been deployed in the worldwide law enforcement organizations and are operating in more than 1000 agencies.
