- NEC NZ Announces The Release of Stackable Installation Projectors
NEC New Zealand Ltd, a leading stand-alone provider of commercial LCD displays, data projectors and innovative digital signage solutions, announced the release of the NP Series of Installation Projectors.
Packed with power and a full line-up of features, these NP Installation Series models can take on the most demanding integration projects in corporate boardrooms, education lecture halls and public display environments.
The four new NEC NP Installation Series projectors (NP1250G2, NP2250G2, NP3250G2, NP3250WG2) deliver high-tech performance with a variety of advanced features that create flexibility for enhanced usage. Bright enough for most applications, the projectors display images up to 5000 lumens.
For the ultimate presentation, users may take advantage of the stacking capability, enabling up to four projectors to boost an image's brightness up to 20,000 lumens, which is ideal for larger-sized screens and environments with heavy ambient light.
This feature also prevents the complete loss of an image, which can happen when using a single projector.

- NEC NZ Introduces High-Bright LCD Display For Digital Signage Applications
NEC New Zealand Ltd, a leading stand-alone provider of commercial LCD displays, data projectors and innovative digital signage solutions, announced the release of the 46-inch MultiSync X461HB high-bright professional display.
This new model is enhanced by more than 30 advanced features of the Digital Signage Technology Suite that allow it to stand out in heavily-lit environments.
With a brightness measurement at 1500 cd/m
²
and remarkable contrast ratio of 3500:1, the MultiSync X461HB boasts 110% higher brightness than NEC's previous-generation displays.
The MultiSync X Series display is ideal for environments heavy with ambient light, such as corporate lobbies, atriums and restaurants.
The X461HB high-bright display provides an extraordinary amount of brightness that outperforms displays using standard settings, allowing it to be truly noticeable in environments where typical, standard brightness would normally seem dim or washed out.
Its advanced features detect nearby light and automatically adjust the display according to its surroundings. - NEC provides University of Canterbury's Innovation Institute with large screen LCDs. The new NZi3 National ICT Innovation Institute building at the University of Canterbury, has been fit out with fourteen 52" LCD5220s and four 65" LCD6520L large screens. NECs eco friendly technology ties in with the buildings reputation as being the most environmentally-friendly educational building in the country.
NEC products were also an obvious choice for a place that is considered a hub of innovation in New Zealand.
A video wall matrix of 3 x 3 LCD5220s is on display in the entrance foyer. The other screens are used for Video Conferencing and Smart Interactive overlays.

- NEC Releases the new 46" NEC MultiSync X461 UN LCD. The new MultiSync X461 UN is about to revolutionize how LCD video walls are perceived. - NEC provides Wall Street Mall in Dunedin with New Zealand's largest video wall.
Working closely with Dunedin City Council and Strawberry Sound, NEC provided the mall with 25 40" 4020LCDs for the tiled digital signage in the main area of the shopping centre. The screens form a 5x5 matrix creating a huge presence in the foyer.
The slim bezel screens are a perfect match to the glass and steel architecture of the mall, and show advertising and video using Panel Director Software provided by NEC.
4 x 46" 4620LCDs were also used for digital signage in the mall entrance giving shoppers footage of Wall Street malls construction.
NEC's wireless networking, Built in PCs, software and bright displays create a total solution for any retail environment.

- NeoFace at the Heart of 3 Awards NEC Congratulates Ogilvy... again! Earlier this year the New Zealand All Black Rugby campaign which used NEC NeoFace Facial Recognition to match the public to their closest look-a-like, won the top public relations award from PRINZ (Public Relations Institute of New Zealand). August 2008 saw the campaign winning the Google New Zealand New Media Marketing Award, and now the campaign has won a prestigious bronze Effie award.

- Weet-Bix Face2Face Campaign Wins Top Public Relations Award. NEC Congratulates Ogilvy New Zealand
Ogilvy Public Relations won the Supreme Award at this year's PRINZ (Public Relations Institute of New Zealand) Awards for its Sanitarium Weet-Bix Face2Face Challenge campaign. Chosen from over 65 entries, the Weet-Bix Face2Face Challenge inspired hundreds of thousands of kiwi kids (and more than a few mums, dads and grandparents) to go online and find out which All Black they most resembled. At the same time, Weet-Bix were flying off the shelves as kids everywhere collected cards to compete in the Weet-Bix Stat Attack game, based on All Black player statistics. Ogilvy MD Greg Partington said that it was Sanitarium's commitment to engage their audience that led to this being one of the country's most endearing and successful campaigns. NeoFace - Facial Recognition, developed by NEC Laboratories, was the core software technology behind the competition.
